Many children in the mountainous areas of Da Hua, Guang Xi have become orphans because their parents have passed away or were abandoned by their widowed mothers.
Silver Lining Foundation has worked with the local government, establishing family villages (Caring Centers) for these orphans.
Each “family” consists of six children. While the Foster parents are still responsible for the upbringing of these children, they are also responsible for their education and taking them to the local primary schools. This allows the children to build a sense of “family” and grow up in a healthy environment attending school like other children.
